Early Childhood Development Support

Early childhood specialists provide support for children in the early years (0-3 years old). This support is for families with children with or without special needs that includes assistance in investigating and understanding difficult behaviors and building secure attachments and parenting skills that promote the foundations of resilience.

How important is it to access psychological/mental health services at this time?

This is a time when many people are feeling overwhelmed and anxious. Access to mental health care is essential to help individuals and families adapt to significant change and uncertainty. Some indications of distress are:

  • Feelings of shock, numbness, or disbelief

  • Change in energy or activity levels

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Changes in appetite

  • Sleeping problems or nightmares

  • Feeling anxious, fearful, or angry

  • Acting-out/irritable/defiant behavior (in kids and teens)

  • Headaches, body pain, or skin rashes

What psychological services are available online?

We are providing the following psychological services online: psychotherapy (children, adolescents, adults), behavioral consultation/parent coaching, and executive functioning coaching.

Can my child continue with psychotherapy services during the pandemic?

MedMom Psych Team has continued to provide psychotherapy services via Zoom video-conferencing platform. Appointments are made through the Front Desk mobile number (0915 876 1234). Once you make an appointment, our admin staff will send you a link to your Zoom session.

What if my child has a hard time focusing during an online session?

We are offering the flexibility of shorter sessions (30-minutes) for kids and other individuals who might have difficulty sitting through a full hour session online.

Are you accepting new clients?

Yes, we are available to take new clients for abovementioned services. We offer a free 30-minute initial consultation.

Are you providing psychological testing and evaluation online?

We are currently looking into delivering our evaluation services online. We hope to be able to offer it soon so please check our updates.

Are online services just as effective as clinic-based services?

How effective teletherapy is, really depends on the individual and their reasons for seeking therapy. Overall the research does support that teletherapy is just as effective as traditional face-to-face therapy for a range of circumstances. However, there are clients for whom teletherapy might not be beneficial. An initial consultation can help determine if this the case.
